Safety
A Culture of Safety
Strata Drilling Group maintains a longstanding commitment to health and safety, as well as an adherence to protecting the environment across all our operations. The drill rig fleet adheres to CE certification safety standards along with the necessary emergency shut offs and integrated auger guards. Strata Drilling Group recognizes that workplace safety is paramount for our employees, clients and the general public at all determined work sites. Strata Drilling Group pledges to collaborate with all stakeholders in order to recognize and communicate health and safety protocols, preventative measures, best practices, and the safety requirements for each project work site. We believe in three employee rights as being integral to our company safety policy. This includes the right to refuse unsafe work, the right to know about all hazards on work sites, and the right for each employee to participate in their own safety. Our daily goal is for every employee of our company to return home safely to their families at the end of each project.
Safety Training
Strata Drilling Group instructs every employee to act as a safety leader on every project work site by taking responsibility for their safety and prioritizing a safe working environment for all those around them. New employees are introduced to the company’s procedures during a mandatory classroom training provided by the Manager of Health and Safety. The training focuses on company policies of health and safety and the responsibility of employees within the organizational structure. In the field, new employees are also provided a safety training program that is task oriented and monitored closely by supervising drillers. Supervisors are fundamental to our approach as an invested provider of multiple drilling methods that exceed all levels of health and safety across the operation. Our drilling equipment utilizes the latest technology to ensure all crews are using drilling methods with the most up-to-date safety standards. Our crews are well trained in safe drilling practices and understand that safety only occurs when every employee exercises their right and responsibility to work safely every day.
Environmental Policy
At Strata Drilling Group concerns about the environment while conducting work are integral to our decision-making process. We educate and encourage our employees to work responsibly by actively reducing waste through reuse and recycling, and by choosing recycled or refurbished materials when feasible. We avoid unnecessary use of hazardous materials, seeking safer alternatives when possible, and take steps to protect human health and the environment when such materials must be used. We develop and maintain emergency protocols, as well as procedures for spill response, as required by legislation or where significant hazards exist. Our commitment to the environment is reflected in regular training, education, and periodic reviews of our environmental policy to ensure compliance.
